So, my week has been fucked.

[TW insect stings, doctor's offices, needles, drawing blood, fainting]

Yesterday, the bathtub started regurgitating the water from the kitchen sink, so we had to have a plumber out. But while Mom was on the phone with the plumber, I was stung by a wasp??? At around this time of year, wasps and bees will just...show up in the house. They're always on the second floor. My running theory is that they're getting in through the window AC (I get frequent stink bug visitors via the AC as well). ANYWAY, I was stung by a wasp, and I had a remote therapy appointment that was supposed to start in half an hour.

Thankfully, I don't have a bad reaction to insect stings (unlike insect bites, which make me swell up like a balloon), so I washed it out and applied a cold compress. So, I ended up negotiating a wasp sting, while dealing with the plumber, and then needing to run up the stairs and shut myself in my room for therapy. And with all that, I did not have time for lunch.

According to the plumber, the house we're renting is basically rotting around us and there's probably a broken pipe somewhere. Lovely.

And then this morning I had my doctor's appointment. Their office is unwilling to prescribe bipolar meds, so I'm being referred to a psychiatrist whose going to diagnose me...again?!?!?!...and then hopefully prescribe medication? I swear. I always hate running into this particular wall, where it's like yeah, sure, we acknowledge that your touchy-feely therapist for your feefees has like, said you might maybe possibly have this illness, but that's not a REAL MEDICAL DIAGNOSIS and therefore is meaningless, even though the clinical psychologist who has spent hours observing and listening to you on a bi-weekly basis for a year probably has a good grasp on what's actually going on with you, but that's not the same as seeing A REAL PROFESSIONAL MEDICAL DOCTOR. Basically, you're not sick unless Our $uper $pecial Awesome Doctor says so, so cough up more $$$ to get diagnosed for the same thing twice.

But whatever, bipolar is serious and I need treatment for it.

I also talked to the nurse practitioner about my various possibly autoimmune disease symptoms (my family has a history of autoimmune disease on both parents' sides), which she did at least take seriously and ordered blood work. Like. A Lot Of Blood Work. They had to take it out of my hand, too, because my elbow veins are fucked (one arm the veins are too small, the other arm they're too far down). I usually handle having blood drawn just fine, but this was so much blood that I was fully becoming faint. Like, getting sick to my stomach, losing my hearing, losing sensation in my limbs. It wasn't good. Thankfully, they were all very nice about it, immediately stopped drawing blood, gave me orange juice and peanut butter crackers, and stayed with me until I could stand on my own. But I'm going to have to go back in because they didn't get enough blood for the autoimmune panels that need to be run.

And then, of course, I got lost on my way out of the office. No doctor visit would be complete without me getting lost. "Oh yeah, just go down this hall, take a right, and the elevators are right there." Mmm, wanna bet? Somehow, I will end up in a restricted area that it shouldn't even be possible for me to access (real story. That has actually happened). It wasn't too bad this time, but still.

An aside: there's been an ongoing subplot about replacing our dishwasher. This has been going for literal weeks, and it was supposed to be installed today, but the maintenance guy's breaks on his car broke???? So now that's going to be tomorrow.

Anyway, I would like a refund on my Adult Card now, please. I would like to go back to the Child Plan, please and thank you.

P.S. In other news; I've been working on a House of the Dragon Daemyra (Daemon/Rhaenyra) playlist all day To Calm My Nerves, and I'm quite happy with it. It's 50% Lana Del Rey, but what else were we expecting, really?
